In partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, NACDD engaged 29 states over the past five years to implement two transformative programs: Building Resilient Inclusive Communities (BRIC) and State Partnerships Improving Nutrition and Equity (SPINE). Responding to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, BRIC was pivotal in strengthening food and nutrition security, ensuring access to safe physical activity, and building vital social connections, while SPINE worked to make nutritious food more accessible, affordable, and equitable for everyone, across all stages of life.
At the end of 2023, it was clear that the funding for these programs would not be continued at the federal level. Our partners at NACDD tasked us with capturing the successes of the programs, producing a video for each that could be used by the states to solicit further funding from local or private sources.
