Supporting State Health Departments to address food and nutrition security is a vital component of National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD)'s work in the Center for Advancing Healthy Communities. We partnered with Propellant Media to promote infant and toddler nutrition across five states (MI, MD, IA, OK, NH) in 2023 and again (MI, OK, NH, KS, OR) in 2024 .

 

Using ads provided by CDC, we developed custom digital campaigns for State Health Departments with messaging focused on connecting Black mothers and caregivers with information and local resources in their state. Our goals were to target the messaging as efficiently and effectively as possible across programmatic and social placements, drive engagement with the ads, and increase visits to the health department website in each state. There, mothers could learn more about the nutritional needs of their child(ren) and gain access to local resources such as SNAP benefits.
