When I started Rocket Camp, I set out to create a place I would want to work. A place that attracts people who look forward to coming in every morning, who are energized while they are here, and who leave proud of what they’ve done.
All the while, I knew that a place like that is an elusive idea, particularly in our industry. But it is possible, and has been my vision ever since.
Now, three plus years later, I can report that Rocket Camp is taking form.
We’ve grown every year.
We’ve helped our clients grow along the way.
We’re proud of the work we’ve done.
And we are proud of the way we’ve done it.
It’s also important to call out what we did not do.
We didn’t take on big investors or big debt, which means we answer only to ourselves and our clients.
We didn’t create unnecessary policies that only constrain our team. Instead we committed to a few important principles that guide our work everyday.
For us this means everyone knows what is expected of them, and that they are responsible for getting that work done. It means that most days we leave at a reasonable hour, and we all make time for ourselves. It means our clients count on us to deliver on our commitments. And it means people come back because they like working with us.
Where we go from here?
Growth. That means expanding our team and expanding our clients. We will continue to hire good people who have strong advertising abilities. We’ll treat them and our clients with respect. We know know they only work with us is because they choose to.
What a fun journey.
